Created custom promotional posters for Alencia Johnson's book launch using Canva, capturing the essence of the story through thoughtful typography, color, and layout. Each design was crafted to build anticipation and visually reflect the heart of the book.
Inspiration

Using the inspiration and brand colors provided, I could see that she had a strong foundation in place. However, there were opportunities to refine the design. Some elements lacked alignment and consistency, and the visuals appeared to rely heavily on a single template.
By adjusting the layout, improving balance, and introducing variation, I was able to elevate the overall design while maintaining the integrity of her original vision.
Since Alencia initially provided graphics that featured only one of her portraits, I chose to center my designs around the second portrait she shared. This allowed her to see a fresh perspective and explore a different visual direction for the launch materials.
For the book itself, I intentionally made it the focal point of the design. I kept the typography minimal and balanced to ensure the cover remained the center of attention, avoiding excess text that could distract or overwhelm the composition.
